“Thank you so much for the help you have given me, it really has transformed my way of thinking and will continue to enrich my life for years to come. Really so very grateful. You do such an amazing job.” EG
“I went to Lindsay as a private patient in 2019. Initially, Lindsay called me for a telephone consultation and I immediately felt her strong sense of warmth, caring and professionalism. This was compounded when we met at her office for our first face to face appointment; she immediately put me at ease. It was a huge relief to be talking to someone who didn’t judge, or make me feel like I was mad or wasting her time.
Lindsay had a very calm manner. She listened to all that was said and whilst some sessions were emotionally tougher than others, I was always able to go home and reflect on the sessions and work on the homework given to me.
I saw Lindsay regularly for a few months before tapering down our sessions as I felt I was recovering. There was never any pressure to continue to attend and Lindsay was keen for me to continue only for as long as I felt I was benefitting. I think I will always be a work in progress and I very much look forward to another face to face appointment with Lindsay once lockdown is lifted.
I genuinely believe that the money I spent with Lindsay is the best investment I could ever have made in myself. I strongly recommend her to anyone needing a warm, caring, compassionate, and professional psychologist. ” HS
“I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done to help me through what has been the darkest point of my life. I’m not out of the woods yet, but certainly looking better than it was!” MA
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you for all you have done to help me. I feel a lot stronger and positive and am really looking forward to the future. You have helped me realise lots of things and I feel I can deal with them a lot better now. Thank you so much again for everything.” HH
“Thanks for the support you’ve given me it’s been amazing and I feel I have learnt a lot in a relatively short time. And tools that I can use to get back on track.” LB
“Dr Walker is an amazing person who made a significant difference to me and my life when I was in a very dark and difficult place. She’s clearly really good at what she does and does it in a professional and structured way whilst understanding and caring.
The better understanding of myself together with the self help tools from Dr Walker have enabled me to see things differently and to be in a much happier place looking forward. In short – thanks Dr Lindsay you’re awesome!” KH
“I self referred to Dr Walker seeking help with anxiety and the impact it was having on me and my life in general. My therapy sessions were thought provoking and helped me to better understand the factors and issues which had contributed to how and why I was feeling the way I was. The work we did provided me with the tools and skills to understand myself better and enable me to self manage things in the future.
Dr Lindsay is a very understanding, caring and supportive professional who made me feel safe and see hope of change early on in my sessions. We worked hard and I’m pleased to say I learned a lot that’s helped me manage my life in a more positive way.” KH
“I have been under Doctor Walker (Lindsay) for a couple of years now and when I was first referred to her I was nervous and apprehensive about the whole thing.
However on the first consultation Lindsay reassured me, talked me through the process and explained what I could expect.
Throughout our time together she has always been approachable and helpful. Giving guidance and support and ensuring my welfare at all times. I would highly recommend Lindsay to anyone.” SO
“My experience of EMDR therapy with Dr Lindsay was amazing. Initially, I had no idea what this therapy was, but Dr Lindsay was able to explain the process and the scientific research behind it to me in detail and ensured I was fully ready before we embarked upon the sessions. During an EMDR session, you begin with one particular memory and then allow your brain the freedom to reveal the links it has made between this initial memory and a myriad of other interconnected events and emotions. Before this therapy, I felt stuck and my memories were fragmented and disorganised. EMDR helped me learn about myself and gain a sense of peace and order. The only reason I felt I could go through EMDR is because Dr Lindsay made me feel incredibly safe. Her kind presence throughout the sessions was both unobtrusive and comforting. She had an innate sense of when I needed to hear a few words of encouragement from her and when I needed to be left with my thoughts to resolve a piece of the puzzle. With Dr Lindsay’s encouragement, I feel I fully reaped the benefits of EMDR therapy. It has transformed my outlook on life massively for the better in only five sessions. ” EA
“Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. You have changed my life and provided a safe space for me to let it all out and help understand myself better. Thank you for being so patient, calming and helpful, I never thought I would meet someone so calm and non-judgemental, you are truly amazing at what you do, and you have changed the way I look at and feel about the world.” AH
“I feel that you have given me so much to think about and proactively work on, so I am feeling very positive about what is ahead and the progress I can make with the help and kindness you’ve shown me. So again, thank you for everything. I am sure I will be back in touch at some point in the near future but I hope it will not be because I ‘need’ (and want) to see you but purely because I ‘want’ to see you to further develop myself. Thanks again Lindsay, although I’m not sure there will ever be the words to show my appreciation.” KB
“I just wanted to reach out with a quick update and thanks! After a very turbulent couple of years P has been diagnosed with ADHD. This was never on our radar and would never have been, had it not been for your vigilance and expert knowledge…..I am eternally grateful to you for recognising P’s life and study challenges and directing her to explore ADHD. Her mental wellbeing is far more stable and we as a family are more informed to recognising what triggers certain reactions and are working together to soothe P during these times.
Thank you for putting P and indeed our family on a better trajectory. To quote P “Lindsay literally saved my life”, so for that I am forever indebted. We’re so grateful you stepped in to save us, a mere thank you just doesn’t cover it!” TW
“I am so very grateful for you, you have truly helped me and help me to continue to grow, heal and to find confidence. You’ve got me through so much pain. I think you are incredible that you help so many people (past and present) and literally save them from themselves, and I speak from experience there.
So thank you so much for being you and for all the help you give me (and for everyone else’s lives you’ve made a difference to). You’re very empowering and just help people find their magic and to believe in themselves whilst never feeling alone. Thank you for always being the light in the darkness”. ZE
I wanted to send you a letter to say thank you for everything you’ve done for me over the last two years. You’ve helped me become the person I am today and that person is someone I am incredibly proud of. ……… Best wishes and thank you so much (you’re my fairy godmother). FP
I feel I’ve made a lot of progress with you and you have helped me immensely. I’m really so very grateful for all our time together, and all you have helped me achieve. EF
Since having therapy with you, my life has drastically improved and I’m finally confident, happy and relaxed in everything I do. I will be eternally grateful for the support and encouragement you always provided me with. I can happily say that together, we have turned my life around and I’m finally living the life I should be. AH
Finding Dr Lindsay Walker and having EMDR therapy has completely changed my life. I previously spent 26 years in therapy trying counselling, cbt, seeing psychotherapists, psychiatrists and psychologists. I was on antidepressants for most of this time but could not get to the bottom of my trauma. I mean we knew what had caused it but I only had tools to manage the anxiety and depression once all the physical and psychological problems happened. Then I met Lindsay in February of this year and straight away she diagnosed my issues/trauma and mooted the idea of EMDR. We had several counselling sessions to get me into the right space and then we started with EMDR. It was several weeks maybe a few months and I no longer have EMDR now. I was very apprehensive but willing to work with Lindsay and try. I needn’t have worried I did feel a bit rubbish for a few days after the session but I’m better now than I’ve ever been I’ve completely stopped one anti depressant and my brain has gone in and repaired the trauma just like we discussed it would. Lindsay is very very experienced and I felt very safe working with her. Thank you Lindsay you’ve transformed my trauma and my life. I continue to see Lindsay on a monthly counselling basis as I like having someone professional to talk to, and to keep my brain/ mind in good order. Now we talk about my plans and goals for the future and I don’t have any worries about my past. JB
I am the sort of person who didn’t believe in therapy, I always thought it would never help. However I completely changed my mind after meeting with Dr Lindsay as she has helped and changed my mindset and therefore my life for the better. I would never want to go back to who I was before and I will carry the lessons I learned for the rest of my life. There’s not enough words in the world to explain my gratitude for how much she helped in such a short time.
Lindsay is a kind and funny therapist who really knows who to make therapy fun. While talking through my trauma she managed to make me laugh the entire way through it. It was those laughs that made everything so much easier and made me feel so comfortable in the session.
Having ADHD I thought it would be difficult and I’d get distracted easily. I did get distracted, but she found a way to bring my mind back into the room and continue on with the session.
I would recommend any one of my friends or family to Lindsay, as she is amazing.
I will never forget our sessions and what I have learned so thank you so much for all help. RE
I was lucky enough to be able to take advantage of seeing Lindsay following a diagnosis of complex trauma having lost my Mum very suddenly when I was young. I was told about EMDR but was very sceptical. I figured I’d spent 30 years being in the depths of despair and how could something so bizarre and out of the ordinary possibly help me deal with my grief. To cut a long story short this treatment, together with Lindsay’s help and support, has been literally life changing for me and I am actually mended, as much as one can be in these circumstances. Only because of Lindsay can I think about my mum now without breaking down but with a smile and a warmth at how I feel so lucky to have had her for the time I did, even if it was shorter than I would have liked.
Lindsay is kind, understanding, empathetic, brilliant in her field and also full of good advice and guidance. The sessions can be super emotional and at times I felt out of control but Lindsay let me know that it was ok and she would be there for me. Often too the grief caused actual pain and I felt I couldn’t breathe but she always had my back, always let me know I was going to be ok. I am and will be forever thankful for Lindsay. She is a light that shines bright in a world that I thought was full of darkness. Thanks to her and her brilliance I see light again and know that whatever happens I have some amazing strategies to help me deal with any situation I find tricky. Thank goodness for you Dr Lindsay Walker. NP
